RAW MCCARTNEY is Indianapolis buddy punk rock made good. A hurricane of psychedelic-ized garage rock swirls around Jacob Gardner, the man behind this band and its songs. Scuzz, and fuzz and blown out everything is the name of the game, the RAW Mcsound. Gardner plays almost everything on recordings, while the live band features a continually revolving gang of mid-west rock & punk characters. A psychedelic garage rock dream held by the arms of a whole community. I like it. Chicago’s TRIPP TAPES released the tape called INTRODUCING RAW MCCARTNEY in fall 13′. Sloppy and scuzz splattered with purpose, the songs found here will scratch that psychedelic scuzz punk peppered w/ electronics itch that you might have been experiencing. If that doesn’t describe you then you might want to look away. “Born To Ride” features backwards guitar solos, scorching and eventually burnt forward style guitar solos and the sort of driving, droning rock n roll groove that little Lou Reeds all over shall forever be lusting after. “Lust For Lies” takes it up a notch, blasting out of control in insane punk fashion. The song is fast, short (1:16), and a near homogeneous ball of fuzz that you barely understand as it flies by your head. What I’m looking for in a punk song. Get yourself a dose of this.
