The glitter and paper crafts could not be more fitting for new wave group Prince Rama’s music video release “Now is the Time of Emotion”. The psychedelic noise and two monotone voices of the Larson sisters mesh to make this insanely fun to listen to, giving it a style reminiscent of Neon Indian’s Era Extraña. The video has a bunch of kids dancing around and I definitely channeled that spirit when I first heard this song. Parts of the video even start to look like a cheesy kids show, which is really great because its obvious these singers aren’t taking themselves too seriously. They’re just having fun with it.
According to Stereogum, the group’s founding members were sisters living in a black metal utopian commune off the coast of Estonia when they came up with the ideas for this song (hmmmmmmm… – ed.). As obscure as that sounds, this is a song that can get anyone moving. It is a single off the album XTREME NOW which is set to come out March 4th. Make sure to have your glitter eyeshadow ready.
