If you’ve been to a show @ the Lilypad in the last 8 or so years, you know Jesse Gallagher. Hell, if you’ve traveled the hidden unpaved dirt roads of Cambridge in that time, you’ve encountered Jesse. No doubt. Always recording on his own and for others (he recorded and produced the first Quilt record, Doug Tuttle’s 1st album was recorded in his apt), always creating (playing w/ Biff Rose, Da Burdz, The New Black Magic Rainbow Quartet, etc.) always playing, but Jesse where are the mementos we can take away? Well, here’s something, and hopefully it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

“Song About A Song” is the epitome of breezy. A classic Paul Simon concoction rife with chem trails of guitar going off in all directions, flavorful Rhodes piano, and an ebullient sweetness, and earnestness that feels awfully good right about now. I’m about as sick of rock music as one can be in general, but this won me over.
