Phlegm is a hardcore band out of Boston, Ma. Their new EP, Qualified Immunity, is a total ripper. While the word phlegm may not be the best word that we can think of right now, this is still music appropriate for the times.

This EP is a 4-track punisher and starts off with the song “Members Of”. This track is one hell of a catchy, brutal intro song to lose yourself in. With each song clocking in at under 3 minutes, these tracks are the definition of raw punk. Unfiltered, loud, and heavy, Phlegm didn’t flinch when they recorded Qualified Immunity.

My favorite track off this EP is “Glutton for Punishment” because it just rings so true during these times. The guitar riff explodes and the vocals carry on relentlessly: “You’re a glutton for punishment…”

Whether you are listening via headphones or speakers, carve out some space for yourself and submit yourself to this EP that is less than 10 minutes in length. Let off a little steam, indulge in your local music infatuation and rock away to this Boston gem.
