This tape is an absolute monster. Several years in the making and co-released by Follow Me Into The Laser Eye and Smash Music, this split features phenomenal noisecore tracks from Japan’s OPS-PSF, France’s Parasite Social, and Penis Geyser and Limbs Bin from the US. Each one brings a distinctive approach to noisecore. The tape opens with long-running Japanese legends OPS-PSF, is comprised of harsh grind blasts and audio samples, feeling distinctively Japanese and invoking the harshest sounds and editing of Violent Onsen Geisha. Limbs Bin finishes off the A-side with one of his densest, harshest tracks yet. The harsh noise based approach to noisecore does bands like Wage-Slave Exchange proud. It also finds the project’s tendencies towards noisecore/grindcore and power electronics combined more fully than ever before. French vegan noisecore act Parasite Social bring the least adventurous contribution to the split, but don’t go thinking there’s anything wrong with that. What they do is very well executed drum and vocal noisecore. Finishing up the tape is the best band in the game today, Penis Geyser. Penis Geyser gives 5 minutes of cut-up noisecore trash. Disorienting, abrasive, and perfect. If grindcore, noisecore, or even noise are your thing, you will be hard pressed to find a better cassette this year. Truly essential.
