Fresh Video

LOVE INKS, a minimalist three-person band out of Austin currently signed with REPUBLIC OF MUSIC, just released a video for SKY MACHINE off their latest album EXI.

Singer Sherry LeBlanc’s voice echoes as she sings, high and melodious, and is accompanied by paired-down keyboards and electric guitar. Throughout the song, a metronome clicks on, loud and almost disruptive in its insistence. SKY MACHINE is bare electro-pop.

The video’s ‘70’s aesthetic compliments LeBlanc’s nostalgic vocals. In muted colors and quick visual snippets, the video hits on the personal and political, the natural and the technological. It’s a wide-ranging survey of images that seem to be particularly directed towards young women. The video pulls together the smallest, most seemingly unremarkable moments that make up a life.
