The Zipps. A 60s Dutch band that didn’t record much, but did record a good handful of very catchy tunes ranging from garage rock to strange lounge inflected psychedelia. Perhaps you’ve heard them on the Nuggets II box set?
Either way there’s something else for you to listen to here. This record(which you can download below) is a compilation of their stuff that came out in the late 90s. I think I bought it at Other Music when they had a store in Harvard Sq. How can you not want to give a listening chance to a band with song called “The Struggle For Ice-Cold Milk of Benzi The Bassplayer or How To Promote Original Dutch Milk”? Yeah, they gave into the cliches, but this is enjoyable stuff.
