Australians, Tasmanians to be exact, THE NATIVE CATS make some lo-fi, groove laden pop. The song “Catspaw” below, is a minimal bunch of attitude, bass, and drum machine. Something you’d hope to find playing in an alley bar while you drink whiskey alone, while keeping an eye on the girl at the other end of the bar. Brooding indie pop with a serious lo-fi keyboard jones brings us close to whatever it is THE NATIVE CATS are. 7″ out on WHITE DENIM, LP out on Boston’s own awesome RIDE THE SNAKE RECORDS. I wish there was more to hear on the internets! You’ll just have to buy the records.
