It’s a pop kind of day over here @ Bodies of Water. This band right here is from NYC, and they are called the Beets. They have a new record out on Captured Tracks called STAY HOME and it’s full of the same kind of lo-lo-fi shambolic shake yourself about kind of pop tunes that these guys have been spewing out for a little while now. We had them over to our old warehouse spot, The Cottage, in Dorchester and they killed it and everyone was happy and had sweet dreams that night. I’ve heard that they’re coming to Boston sometime shortly down the line, so you wanna look out for that. For fans of Jonathan Richman, The Vaselines, and Beat Happening kind of stuff. If you like the pop these guys are doing it the right way.
