SEWN LEATHER, out of Portland, OR. Another band putting out records on Night People. That label has been seriously INVADING! At times harsh noise meets head on with dance beats. I want to dance. I want to kill myself. This is my range of emotion here. Actually I guess that’s not the range, those are just the two extremes that I feel at different times while listening to SEWN LEATHER. “4000 Calories” is a great moment amongst the songs off their site(below) where we get a bunch of noise and a serious groove. Modern hip hop drums and a real industrial feel. “Pig Problem” is also a winner from the same lot of songs. Insistent reverby drumbeats and unintelligible vocals and some borderline annoying synth note come together to create a demented schoolyard rhyme chant. Going to be lots of fun for everyone when they hit Gay Gardens this evening with a bunch of bands including one of our local weirdo pop favs, ROTTEN APPLES.
