Layers of fuzz on everything. That’s how things go on this California based band’s record from a couple years back. CATHEDRALS WITH NO EYES starts pretty and slow, but with the second song some sort of organ and energetic vocals arrive. A dance number again stuck deep in the fuzz. More dance trax living under fuzz mountain show up as we continue through this record. Drum machines are on the loose. RAILCARS are at their best on tracks like “Cathedral With No Eyes” and “Castles” when the organ comes in and really ties the room together with some needed melody amidst all this scuzz. CATHEDRALS ends almost like it started, slow and pretty. Hearing the sound of floating through outer space while a ship goes by at warp speed perhaps.
