Harald Grosskopf played with a lot of different groups in Germany during the 70s, becoming a very sought after synth man in those parts. In 1980 he stepped out on his own with SYNTHESIST, a warm, dreamlike, rhythm and synth laden record of interlocking melodic synth lines and sequenced runs. The record oscillates between bright upbeat numbers and slow drones
that just ooze into your ears. I feel this most when it goes all drone, such as on the track “Emphasis.” Grosskopf plays live drums, the synths and everything else you might find on this record. RVNG Intl. has just re-released this record as well as a remix record featuring the likes of B.O.W. favorite Oneohtrix Point Never
