Hands and Knees make some of the most jubilant, bob your head, sway your shoulders kind of rock that these ears have heard in aeons. Aeons motherfuckers, aeons. With WHOLESOME, their brand new record, they maintain and push forward. Getting noisy at times, dropping a country moment here, a luxurious pop harmony there, shards of power pop, and various indie rocks all over the place. A Boston band with dueling male and female vocals, needle in the pop vein, but it being a dirty needle…the Pixies will come up. And you know this gang holds their own. Nearer to the cleaner Pixies moments for sure, you will leave their release show tomorrow @ Great Scott with their melodies bouncing around your noggin for quite some time. Definitely a F-F-F-UN band to see live. And the record’s great too. Do yourself a favor tomorrow and go to Allston, get a bite to eat, and settle in for a sweet show.
