Few artists in recent memory have emerged from the underground with as much ferocity and creativity as Dan Deacon has over the last bunch of years. We here at Bodies of Water have been lucky enough to host Dan numerous times at several different venues throughout the Boston area, and he never disappoints. Dan Deacon has brought glitched out and intelligent music to the ass region of the people and he has won over and over. A manic ringleader and entertainer beyond being a maker of interesting and very fun electronic musical mayhem, Dan is always seeking to bring something new to the show goer’s experience. As part of the Wham City Collective out of Baltimore he has toured several times as part of a larger round robin show format, creating a wild spectacle as well as an amazing template for breakthrough artists to help their fellow artists be seen by a larger audience. He has also toured as part of the multimedia experience known as ULTIMATE REALITY, scoring a live soundtrack to the wild visuals of Jimmy Joe Roche. And he just keeps going, apparently currently scoring a Francis Ford Coppola Film! Let’s hope Coppola can up his game to Deacon’s. Dan plays at UNH tonight with one of our local favs, MMOSS, opening. I don’t even know if it’s a public show, but you should find a way there!
