in sight but grayness and rain, and the sun is going down,
and the landscape is just as bleak looking as the sky,
and you know that you have a long way to go still,
and that you’ll be driving for hours, and that you’re hungry
but you can’t take the time to stop and eat a hot meal
because you won’t make it to where you have to go in time,
so you have to subsist on what’s left in the bag of pretzels you
opened yesterday and you’re hoping to god that there’s something left
in that water bottle on the floor.
