Limbs Bin is a NYC-via-WMASS one-man vocals/electronics/drum machine project combining elements of power electronics, powerviolence, grindcore, noisecore, and noise. Total Anguish, released on No Lights Tonight Records, falls primarily into the noisecore category, featuring a single track containing 39 songs in 5 1/2 minutes. The album has a distinctly digital sound, bringing to mind digital hardcore acts almost as much as grind/noisecore ones, like Alec Empire doing stop/start noisecore. 2014 has been a productive year for Limbs Bin and offering two essential releases: the Total Anguish CDr and the split cassette with Sete Star Sept. The latter release, recorded as a duo, presents a more directly grindcore effort full of swirling electronic noise that eventually consumes everything else in the colossal 14-minute “As Above, So Below,” while on the flip side Sete Star Sept continues to show why they are one of the best bands on the planet. And while you’re at it, grab a copy of the great Primitive Response 7”. Copies of the CDr and 7” are both still available from the Limbs Bin bigcartel.
