Laurel Marsh – An Unchanged Reality

by

Laurel Marsh’s new single, An Unchanged Reality, was recently released in a music video with collaborator Joel Booska of Morymbfilm. Her song emerges from etherial darkness, watery and serene while Marsh’s image is timeless, harkening back to feminine icons of yesteryear. Here, her style is mellow and moody with some goth rock influences, vintage in vibe.

The song, ‘An Unchanged Reality’ is stabilized by her voice, full, low, and grounding, like a kind of meditation. The expression is reflective, with an enduring quality that speaks to emotional states after heart ache and loss. The concept, unchanging, is contrasted with images that shift like the natural world, as well as in our emotional landscape. The haunting echoes of Marsh’s voice are also soothing. Vocals climax to a siren before the storm subsides again. Sheer and shadowy, Marsh’s new single drowns, rinses, and cleanses the listener.

Laurel Marsh is a local singer, songwriter, and bass player. She played for the all-female rock group, Jaded. She now has multiple musical projects including, ZagrueS, a two-piece electronic metal band and the three-piece melodic metal band, Suicide Dream. ZagrueS expects to release their first full length album in 2018.
