Another queasily dreamy dispatch from Ben Greenberg’s HUBBLE. The former Zs member/current member of THE MEN has caught the attention of many discerning and exploratory listeners via the cosmic fluttering that emanates from his guitar.
Over the course of a number of releases (since the project’s inception in 2011) Greenberg’s pulsing guitar vision has come continually into focus. Having recorded for such luminous labels as NNA, and NORTHERN SPY, Greenberg is this time around throwing in (once again) with those ultra sweet folks @ NNA TAPES (label of the year?).
Mysterious and alluring, HUBBLE’s sound is intoxicating. And soon you will want to drink some more, once you have allowed these sounds to spiral down into your ear hole. HUBBLE EAGLE is the next thing, the NNA release that came out but two days ago. “A Long Way From Home” is mellow and exhilarating all at once. Amazingly executed, but welcoming. Here vocals flow in the background as if following along after the celestial guitar playing, trying to stay with the relentless strumming, and barely able to hold on. HUBBLE EAGLE I look forward to you. And if you feel anything like I do about this musician then you will be happy to know that our friends over @ B.O.W. Shows are putting on a show for HUBBLE @ Video Underground in Jamaica Plain on 11/15 w/ CULT AND LEPER, FUME HOOD, and GREAT VALLEY. That is a show!!
