Over the years Hank Wood & the Hammerheads have become one of NYC’s premiere attractions, with their first LP, Go Home!, selling tens of thousands of copies yet remaining difficult to find for those of you who didn’t grab it immediately upon release or the release of one of its subsequent pressings. “Fatigue,” released by Lexi’s Flexis, is a track recorded during the Stay Home!! session and a cover of a new-wave-era Blitz classic done in typical Hank Wood & the Hammerheads cretin-snot fashion. The track is cleaner than the album cuts, lighter on the keyboard, and probably the most rock’n’rolling track they have done. The percussion is off-the-wall as usual and really does justice to one of Blitz’s most underrated tracks. While disappointingly comprising only one track, the flexi is well worth the grab. “Fatigue” is everything that you know and love about Hank Wood in one of their best songs. The flexi is sold out from the label but available in distros across the web.
