Halfsour‘s “IK” is three minutes and twenty seconds of rock ‘n’ roll comfort food– no-frills ’90s-style alt-rock. Perhaps it’s a little funny that its video, shot on good old-fashioned film, harkens back to even earlier days of nascent MTV, when layering multiple shots at once was still new and somewhat mind-blowing technology. Alas, thirty years later, none of this is rocket science, though it’s apparent that this Boston (!) band has an appreciation for artistic methods born in years past and, more importantly, not half-assing their revival. Cheers to that!
