GO TO: TONIGHT (7/1) QUILT, YOUNG MAGIC, BIRTHDAYS, HEADBAND @ GREAT SCOTT

by

Its been a looooong sultry weekend full of backyard barbeques, sweaty basement boogies, and of course more lovely live music than you can shake a stick at. I know your all tired, us too, but buck up! and summon that inner weekend warrior, cuz there still remains one amazing show to round out this seemingly interminable series of raw sun-baked jam-outs. Local psych rock swamis QUILT, those patron saints of positive vibes, have embarked on a massive nation-wide tour for the month of July, spreading the good gospel of alluring, mind-expanding grooves to the needy multitudes. They ain’t goin’ it alone though; Aussie-NY transplant YOUNG MAGIC compliments the intrepid folksters with shimmering slo-mo beats swathed in so many cushy layers of fuzzy, deep filters that would lull you into reveries of ethereal dreamscapes -if only the penetrating rhythms didn’t constantly pull you back into your body and compel you to flow in his electronic slipstream. BUT THATS NOT ALL! Local experimental pop-tropic groove-meister BIRTHDAYS, fresh off a killer performance at the FMLY FEST afterparty, will deconstruct the dance floor with heady breezy bangers that channel holy spirits. Fellow Bostonians HEADBAND will surely get the party started with their oh-so-sweet garage blues rock hooks. So come on down to Great Scott in Allston tonight, and sip on the refreshing cocktail of sweet psychedelia that is this solid lineup. And if you haven’t seen Quilt live yet, do yourself a favor and BE THERE.
