That most reliable of heavenly show houses Gay Gardens never fails to pull together top notch out-there acts to soundtrack our weekend freak-outs, and tonight is no different. Let’s keep one thing clear though, if you come, you will not leave with your eardrums intact, as these bands are thunderous loud. Robot Death Kites are coming up from New York City to pummel us with some blistering scum punk lovin, and we welcome these filthy freaks with open arms and the finest noise punk bands this city has to offer. Vehement Caress do deep, haunting drones and power electronics, penetrating bodies with disturbing subterranean frequencies. Arvid Noe are gut-wrenchingly great, pulsating with hearty, contagious sounds that blend bizarro punked pop melodies, angular grunge rock tones and a healthy appetite for dissonance. Somerville’s Gondoliers are a quiet powerhouse, masters at building tension with well paced drums, pumped up loops and distraught guitar groans that swing over insightful vocals and wrap back around themselves until the fleshy whirlwind of angsty energy touches down for maximum destruction. Thats when Guerilla Toss, those demented demons of deformed noise punk, take over with a single goal in mind: to absorb every last drop of juicy sweat energy they can squeeze from their audience in order only to blend it together with some math funk and undead no-wave in a possessed hell-blender and fling it back at them, creating a feedback loop of brain damage-inducing mayhem. So if you like your music hard and fast, find this Allston abode and bid your aural faculty adieu.
