Head over to Central Square in Cambridge tonight, because TT’s is host to what’s sure to be a lively show, as local movers and groovers Hands and Knees celebrate the release of their latest record Red Hot Minnow! The new cassette is a highly addictive, delicious collection of raw blues-folk bangers (check our write-up from yesterday if you don’t believe), and they’ll undoubtedly pour down unto us their sweet, reverb-laden garage goodies with equal parts technical precision, pop genius, and reckless abandon. But they are not alone, for they carry in their tow two heavy duty bands similarly dedicated to bringing the true jams. Vermont hermit crab collective Happy Jawbone Family Band roll deep and play hard with lo-fi slow-burnt forays into the collective unconscious of our childhood bedroom pop melodies memories. Fellow Cambridgites Fedavees discharge tremondous undergound vibes with twisted zoned-out garage doom rippers that wrap the mind’s eye in a cushion of aural delight. All in all, the boys at Primordial Sounds and Sippy Cup Everything have outdone themselves by bringing together so many talented people dedicated to galvanizing the wallflowers into some much needed Dionysian dance excess. Leave your inhibitions at the door.
