Non-event has put together a great show for ya TONIGHT at Studio Soto in Fort Point. Zs (Sam Hillmer, Patrick Higgins, Greg Fox) have been blowing us away for over 10 years now with their unique blend of sax freakout, tribal drums and searing guitar. The sounds they produce has always had a brutal quality, a relentlessness that, in a live setting, induces a kind of euphoric trance. Opening the evening’s show are Boston’s TAPS (Brendan Murray, Chris Strunk). The live drum-electronic pair craft long, discursive drone beats, featuring ample use of stabbing synth noises and subtle, dub-tinged drumming to create a stark, lucid post-apocalyptic atmospheres. If you’re looking for a transcendental experience to carry you away to the astral plain, this show’s your best bet.
