Throughout the digital era KID KOALA has held onto the same tools he used when he started DJing in the late 80’s: vinyl records and SP1200 drum machines. The dude’s most recent release, 12 Bit Blues, has him in classic form, with warbled, chopped, and slowed voice and horn samples looping over easygoing beats. The current tour is a real vaudville SPECTACLE, with cabaret dancers, robots, puppets, parlor games and even a gigantic turntable. Throw in some wild comedy with opener ADIRA AMRAM and heavy bass beats from local solo synther SCROLL (he’s premiering a new CD tonight by the way) and you got yourself a singular show on your hands tonight at the Brighton Music Hall.
