An everything-but-the-kitchen-sink show with pleasures aplenty in JP tonight at The Whitehaus full of chill tunes, an album release, homecomings, birthdays, poetry, and shadow puppetry (what more could you want?). Ypsilanti, MI’s Patrick Elkins brings his travelling shadow puppetry show through town tonight, promising psychedelic visual delights. A cornucopia of local legends make up the rest of the bill. Whitehaus poet laureate Brian S. Ellis returns from his new home of Portland, OR for a very special homecoming performance. Also returning tonight is the heavenly psych-folk vibemaster Frank Hurricane of Hurricanes of Love, back from a quick tour through Canada and surely full of psychedelic tales of the northern tundra. As if all that isn’t enough reason to make this a special night, it’s JP chill folk ponderer Greg Sun‘s birthday! He’ll be releasing his new album Dark Beach and performing with two different acts – Greg Sun & The Dark Beach (backed up by a host of family and friends) and Libras Of Sound (drum duo with Arkm Foam, also returning from tour). With so many different things going on here, it’s a safe bet you’ll find something to hit you right in your sweet psych spot.
