There’s something about summer weather – the stifling heat, the bright endless days, the refreshing breeze – that’s highly conducive to vibing out to lighthearted garage pop jams. Its a cliche perhaps, but its no less true. If you remain unconvinced, tonight’s the perfect opportunity to test the theory, as PA’s Lounge in Somerville is playing host to a nice little collection of sweet sunny tunes. TACOCAT is coming all the way from Seattle, Washington to deliver us some silly irreverent trash-pop jangles. Philly tour brats SLUTEVER rock with crunchy garbage gunk grooves to twist and sweat to. We all know and love FAT CREEPS, so there’s little need to sell you on these too-cool heartbreakers. Cambridge’s SPACE BUMS (formerly Golden Retriever) riff on dreamy garage psych rhythms to mellow the mood a bit. FUME HOOD round the evening out smooth with some over-processed dub drone poppers and hissers. If you’re lookin’ for an unpretentious good time to go with your summer ale, this show’s a sure bet.
