GO TO: FANCYTRAMP (TN), PILE, FAT CREEPS (EP RELEASE), THE MIGS (NH) @ MOE’S LOUNGE (SOMERVILLE)

by

Those wicked weirdos at FREAK FLAG always put on the sweet shows, and tonight they’ve prepared a delicious smorgasbord of fuzzy good-time garage rock over at Moe’s, that Radio basement bar offshoot in Somerville’s Union Square. Headlining the event are FANCYTRAMP, a tight lil’ trio outta Nashville, Tennessee that roll out the heavy licks and heady grooves with a breezy nonchalance tinged with an unsettling downer dour mood. They’re touring to promote their new EP, Singing Towers at Sunset, so check it out. Everyone’s favorite feel good fellas PILE will be doing their catchy post-pop, titillating eardrums and lifting spirits through the gloom. FAT CREEPS keep it real with swarmy, jaded lyrics and compellingly upbeat bass-line. After nearly a year of teasing us with a trickle of killer, addictive booty shakin’ singles, they’re finally releasing an EP. Get ’em hot off the presses in tape or CD form. Last but not least are New Hampshire’s THE MIGS, who straight killed it opening for The New Highway Hymnal and Mmoss at the Great Scott a couple weeks back. These dudes do driving garage-blues grooves with punching guitar hooks, slamming cymbals and a indelible swagger to boot. Like a modish Small Faces resurrected from the dead, these rude boys know how to bring the party. You best get ready to sweat out those weekday blues and slap on a smile, cause you can’t stay down with these cats soundtracking your Friday night.
