Historically speaking, DJ Premiere is the best producer of all time. It’s such a hard fact to counter, that everyone usually just nod’s and agrees. Starting his work with Boston’s own GURU and the legendary Gangstarr, this dude has traversed the hip-hop landscape working with everyone from Nas, Pete Rock, Common, Bun B, Big L, DITC, A.G., OC, a veritable whose who of “yeaaaa that shits alright for hip hop”. But it’s not, its great beyond imagination. Jazz samples? Primo. Digging in the crates? Primo. A Tribe Called Quest? So heavily influenced it might as well be peer pressure. Tonight he’s spinning a DJ set with local legend Big Shug, whose releasing his new 12” “I.M.4.EVA”. God damnnnn this show’s even got underground homie 7L on the 1’s and 2’s?! If you’re looking for a place to nod your head, puff a pound, and slam a few down do not hesitate to GET AT GOOD LIFE; it’s an unreal change of pace. Last time I saw Primo, he was playing to 20,000 People in NYC, do not miss this.
