Well now ain’t this a treat. The fine folks at Dreamhouse Collective have put together a diverse showcase of upcoming artist, both local and nyc-based, over at the Great Scott this evening. Coming off an excellent tour last fall with Toro y Moi and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, these Brooklynite sweethearts Ava Luna have graciously agreed to share their saccharine septet vocal harmonies and disjointed post-pop song structures with us proud beantown bruisers. Not to be outdone by these excellent headlining hipsters, Boston will be bringin’ out the big guns with a trio of hard-hitters. Openers Holiday Mountain bring their rowdy reggae rock jamz to set the groovy mood. Sommervillains Fat Creeps will throw down their smart, disaffected garage no-fi tunes to funky effect (check our listen to). And, of course, the always killer New Highway Hymnal will blow everyone into an alternate reality with those dirty psychrock bangers we all know and love. If you’re lookin’ to find whats fresh and lively in Boston, and you’re too scared to venture into the unchartered terrain of electonic weirdness that is Raw Meet Five at MassArt’s Pozen Center, well then this is surely the place to be.
