Glenn Jones, guitar hero. Greater Boston’s John Fahey(hell he and his band Cul De Sac put out a record, The Epiphany of Glenn Jones, with Fahey). And just generally one musician you can trust to be making interesting and beautiful music. He has put of severals record with his band Cul De Sac, which is a collaboration with Robin Amos, formerly of seminal Boston punks/post-punks, The Girls. Cul De Sac brings together the open tuned fingerpicking style of guitar playing that Jones is famous for with a heavy dose of electronic rock, creating an often moody and atmospheric instrumental stew. A stew that Damo Suzuki has also peppered with his appearance on their record, Abhayamudra. Jones has also released a handful of beautiful, and at times mesmerizing solo records. Off of these, perhaps interspersed with new material, you can find him performing tonight @ Great Scott with Bonnie Prince Billie’s William Tyler, and the droning sounds of High Aura’d. The video below may even be from an old B.O.W. Show…but my memory is not providing the complete assurance that this is so…
