RADIO SCOTVOID is a Scottish transplant currently thriving in the North Shore of Massachusetts. This hardworking, meticulous producer brings to the Boston electronic scene a refreshing breeze of European ease. His latest effort Ikea Crimejazz, released on his eponymous label, delivers minimal funky rhythms – sharp claps and strikes of searing synth that mesh into a smooth, undulating groove, riding an elusive balance between stimulating variation and subtle backround tones – psychedelic muzak for the contemporary ear. The two tracks, full and expansive yet succinctly composed, feels just as natural playing quietly in the backrground of a serene fireplace den as blaring with noisey distortion in a seedy dance club. You can purchase the new record here, and catch him in Boston soon.
