Boston/Providence punks LIBYANS have a new record coming out later in the summer/early fall, but they have been kind enough to share with us a video for one of the songs off that future record. “Rite of Passage” bears the hallmarks of LIBYANS, an approach somewhere in between hardcore and some more pop inflected kind of punk that I can’t quite pigeon hole. But why pigeon hole anyway? Bile is spewed in the general direction of dated, archaic viewpoints and societal models over a 80s/90s US indiepunk sound. A fairly ripping almost 2 minutes all set to a cool video made by band member Aaron and culled from the rabbit hole known as the Prelinger Archives. Keep your eyes peeled for that new record, it’s called EXPIRED LANGUAGE, and it will be out on SORRY STATE RECORDS!
