These Boston guys obviously have some JOY DIVISION listening time logged in their past, but I’m not going to hold it against them. It’s been a while since I checked in with this band and previously they were going for a scuzzy garage rock kind of thing if my memory serves me. That has been totally flipped, and like I said, the direction is now a colder, post-punk sort of thing that is working much better for them. “No Life Here” is the winner say my ears, driving rhythm, chanted vocals, shards of guitar here and there. Definitely want to hear more of what they do traveling down this path. SQUALL has released a 7″ featuring the two tracks below, it is out now.
