Japan’s SETE STAR SEPT are the best grind band going. Honing a singular sound somewhere between harsh noise, noisecore, and free jazz, the band has unleashed a non-stop assault of recordings exploring numerous realms of grindcore/noisecore. Including a split with Brazil’s NOISE and an upcoming lp, both available from the always stellar SPHC, Sete Star Sept have nine releases this year alone. Unlike most grindcore bands with a similar volume of output, Sete Star Sept always manages to both defy and exceed expectations. Check out the band’s magnum opus, Revision Of Noise, from 2010 on FUCK YOGA RECORDS. They are currently on tour in the midwest with THE GLOBSTERS and noisecore greats PENIS GEYSER.
