FUNERAL CONE want you to get weird. They are perhaps the strangest punk band from the Boston area since The Showcase Showdown. Dan Wars doesn’t sound anything like Albert Genna, but FUNERAL CONE share that same bizarre spirit that Showcase had, writing really great songs that occasionally will make your head explode in the most pleasing way possible (with an added bonus of lots of great female vocals and psychotic Farfisa freak outs). They’ll be releasing a 7″ and playing a show at a museum of natural history in Vermont sometime in the next couple of months, but for now you’ll have to settle for this video of their very first show:
