Dracula Lewis coming in strong with some bratty, sneering punk electronics. Vernasca, Italy-based Simone Trabucchi has been recording under the Lewis moniker for a small bit now, edging out releases for Souterrain and No Fun. U$e Your Illu$ion$ comes off as his most complete statement by far: a full immersion into his warped, detached, and desecrated world. Surrounded by melting synths and naive beats, Dracula trips through effected vocal lines that hop between faux-R&B creeper and spirited punk rant-rap. Illu$ion$ is out now on Trabucchi’s Hundebiss Records, home to those VHS releases from Hype Williams and James Ferraro and the excellent Mil Pluton by Èlg.
