Don’t make the mistake of missing one of the freshest, most energetic bands happening in Boston, DESIGNER. Their latest E.P. Kalvin & Kline is a full-on assault on your senses. These Berklee kids are designing some seriously tweaked, don’t-give-a-fuck, unruly punk. It’s thrilling to see a crew of artists with such unrestrained energy and passion. The tight, blasting rhythms, face-melting guitar and erratic, hyperactive shouts are enough to send the listener into an ecstatic fit. These kids play their instruments with reckless abandon on songs like “Weekend Museum” and “Tommy Gun”. Everything seems to come together in a natural way that leads to some infectious punk grooves. Designer is in many ways the most fitting term because they seem to be creating their own world and living in it. Buy their casette on BUFU Records and catch them this Tuesday at O’Brien’s.
