From Olympia, WA comes another cool punk band, CRIMINAL CODE. This one is phaser’d guitar all up in your face, shouted vocals and tunes that I actually might want to listen to past once. Their songs have an 80s indie punk or SST un-punk punk feel and flavor and it’s all done ripplingly well. 7″s are out and a new 12″ called COLD THOUGHT is also out on INIMICAL RECORDS. Not weird punk, just raw punk with phaser like they did at some other times in the history of punk. Reminding me in some way of the NYC band THE KRAYS from the late 90s(minus the phaser). And I loved the KRAYS. Will do a CHECK IT for these guys if we can get a hold a full blown record.
