Boston’s very own The Carters (known at other times as The Craters) have zig zagged across a landscape of lo-fi guitar based musical approaches and even patches of electro-pop for several years now. Their music has always been endearing no matter it’s constitution, but the group’s various takes on out of the bedroom pop, often with experimental leanings, are what caught this listener’s attention. And here we have a new track via the band’s Soundcloud. I’m not sure of its context in their musical mission but “John Wesley Harding” is a great track. It’ll stick to the inside of your brain with its psychedelic but not guitar beauty and intoxicating chorus. Definitely hearing Beck (pre-shittiness) and Television nods. This direction is very cool. When are these guys playing next, I plan to be there! And I should also mention that guitarist Wes is now playing with members of the Needy Visions in a new band called Aykroyd.
