Brisbane’s BLANK REALM are back with a new record called GO EASY which has recently been released on the legendary SILTBREEZE record label. BLANK REALM are a group, as we’ve discussed previously, that have been slowly intermingling more and more pop into their loud, and gnarly improv rock entanglements. The title track on GO EASY is the poppiest thing I’ve heard from them, and maybe the best song I’ve heard from them. But we don’t have that track here (because for some reason my new job outlaws Soundcloud, of all things). No, what we have below is another tune off the new record called “Acting Strange”, and it is a ripping acid punk thing, that if you like that kind of thing, you are going to love. Noisy, and urgent, and desperate, and some nice riffage happening as well. These folks are getting dangerously close to perfecting the whole difficult to balance noise/punk/pop dynamic.
