If we live in at the moment where space and time intersect, what does it sounds like where they don’t? Is there a noise in the past and future tense?
The hell if I know. Washington, D.C.’s Flasher might, though, if their upcoming self-titled cassette is any indication. Its five new wave-y tracks are sometimes futuristic and sometimes more reflective, though they’re almost always pervaded by a skin-crawling creepiness. Flasher is also dense; like a good book, you’ll have to go through it at least a few times to understand its nuances. Luckily for us, the non-existence of time is, at least in this case, pretty danceable.
Stream “Tense” below. Dig it? Flasher is out April 6 via Sister Polygon Records. You can also catch the band play live at Boston’s Black Lodge on April 6.
