This song is almost a little bit too cute, but it can’t always be angry songs all of the time, right? “(I’m A) Stranger” is a sugary sweet catchy little charmer from Canada’s FIRST BASE. I became aware of these guys when PERSONAL AND THE PIZZAS covered “Nobody Makes My Girl Cry But Me”, which for months I assumed was a Pizzas original. I’m glad I figured out who actually wrote it, FIRST BASE are totally great! They’re like a less provocative NOBUNNY, you could bring them home to Mom and she’d probably wouldn’t get creeped out. If I danced, ever, I would probably dance around my apartment to this song, and I imagine I’ll feel the same way about the rest of the album, which is due to come out on HOZAC soon.
