Noise punk is a genre that usually gets points for sounding exactly like every other noise punk act, which makes it refreshing when bands subvert that (Austalia’s Vaginors come to mind). Pittsburgh’s EEL takes the noise punk genre and gives it a more UK82 feel to go with the pogo. The overall product sounds closer to People than to Nekromantiker, but still manages to keep it angry and abrasive, especially in their live show. The Endless Fucker LP, containing 9 songs in a little under 14 minutes, is the latest and arguably strongest release to date for EEL. The LP will be out on Konton Crusher this week, although a limited version was released for Record Store Day. Along with bands like Free Clinic and Slices, EEL are keeping Pittsburgh punk exciting.
