Hot on the heels of two pummeling releases in Septemeber, The Suicide Deluxe EP from Wichita’s noise-obliterator Dreamcrusher recently got the tape treatment from Hausu Mountain. Dreamcrusher’s sound is the aural equivalent of house music dissolving like an Alka-Seltzer tablet in corrosive acid until it’s just a percussive skeleton floating in dizzying fuzz. At moments during the EP, the compositions pull us in an icy nocturnal direction against the current of the eviscerating surge of its overdriven production. The lead melody buried underneath the title track retains importance if not prominence while the razor-edged feedback hovers around its fringe like a poisonous mist.
