Insanely boisterous New England punkers DOWNTOWN BOYS have shot a new batch of fucking protest party punk songs into orbit around all of our brains (or at least those of us smart enough to listen up!)! DC’s especially ripping SISTER POLYGON RECORDS hath dropped the DOWNTOWN BOYS 7″ on me and you and our winter beaten brows. Bilingual sax attack punk that beats back the bullshit and intoxicates with its unusually wonderful mixture of elements. I can’t remember the last time I heard a punk band spouting positivity like this and pulling off the level of charisma and just plain contagious ‘having a good time’ feelings that this seriously incredible bunch from Providence is capable of.
The video for their song “Slumlord Sal” (off the new 7″) has to be just about the best video made by a New England band that I’ve seen in some time. Taking it to shitty landlords here DB have tapped into some bullshit that almost all of us can relate to from at least some point in our lives. Relentless and fun and if there is one band who can really harness some form of magic and get the cops to glam on out and get down with the fun, then it certainly is Victoria and Joey and the rest of these killer DOWNTOWN BOYS. Seriously pumped after listening to and watching this!!! Rage out with reason!?! Definitely.
