I always dig a music vid that’s so great, I wish MTV were still around in its original form so I could lay back and think about how said vid is too cool to ever be on MTV, yet I know about it and get to watch it over and over while most of the world remains oblivious to its greatness. Does that make sense? Anyhow, the new CREATUROS video for “Short Shorts” is one of those super-great videos– it’s self-effacing, hilarious, and involves a cute dog. Plus, it’s perfect for early July, when even the most chic Bostonians shed down to the skivvies to survive the sweltering heat.
Starring a guy (Nighttime Gallagher), a pair of short shorts, a Jack Russell Terrier, and a bunch of hip hangouts (including Cheapo, The Lilypad, and 1369), “Short Shorts” follows an afternoon in the life of a short shorts-wearer who is persecuted by seemingly everyone in Camberville. If you’re wondering whether he eventually gives in to peer pressure and ditches the shorts… you’ll just have to watch the video.
