CORALCOLA (aka Mikey Lee) is probably best-known for his DJ sets. His residency at the long-running Make It New has proven him an adept presence with straight four-to-the-floor house and techno beats. The type of jams that really get a club moving. But what makes the Worcester native’s sets special is that he brings to the table a breadth and depth of knowledge with regards to far-flung styles, genres and eras of music far beyond just club tunes.

Nowhere is this more apparent than in his recent production work, which takes on elements of drone and ambient more in line with the work of someone like TIM HECKER or FENNESZ than RICHIE HAWTIN. His tracks are expansive and emotional, tinged with a sort of depressive grace not many people can master. Case in point: “Moping Mechanism”, an exclusive track from the artists’ compilation for this year’s Together Festival.
