We previously covered San Francisco’s COLD BEAT with their video for “Worms”, and they’ve just released a new one for 2nd single off of their upcoming LP Over Me.
“Mirror” is a noise-pop gem of energized bliss, steady with Ramones-y speed but relaxed from the fine mesh of jangly guitars and bassist Hannah Lew’s soothing vocals. The sentiment “can’t see anything at all” is both an invitation for immersion and a declaration of confusion. The video finds the band members layered in different locations and seemingly different realities, yet they are always together in some way. It’s a fitting concept for Lew’s apparent fascination with science fiction.
Look forward to a review of Over Me later this month and check out other GRASS WIDOW-related BRIDGE COLLAPSE while you’re waiting.
