What’s ferocious and fun as fuck? Distorted Farfisa-fueled garage punk grounded with sick guitar riffs, auxiliary trashcan percussion and fronted by a scary, snarling madman. Hank Wood and the Hammerheads is just that. They roll with Toxic State Records, stand out NYC punk label that is putting out pretty much anything in the realm that matters right now. But these dudes stand out in their own way, bringing groovy and dangerously catchy elements to the heavy, nasty and brutal rock and roll sound Toxic State is known for bringing to light. Hank Wood & the Hammerheads are definitely more on the garage rock side of the fence but they throw bigger rocks than anyone, or at least they did. People on the street are saying that Hank Wood and the Hammerheads just played their last show but what the fuck do they know? Just listen up, get your hands on a copy of their new “GO HOME” LP and lose you’re goddamned mind. Available from Luke’s Distro.
